Last weekend I rang in my 24th birthday in the only way I know how, surrounded by my three favorite F words; friends, family and FOOD. My birthday celebrations began in New York City, and continued through the week with amazing and delicious food items. This blog post, comes with my favorite dinner. Even though I know I have already written about OB Warehouse, the original post was in regards to brunch, so this post is in regards to dinner.

The dinner vibe is pretty similar to the brunch vibe, except the lights are a bit dimmer and the menu provides more robust options. We ordered a wide variety of food, as there was 8 out of us total. Our first appetizer was the Ahi appetizer. It is served on a bed of jasmine rice and accompanied by prawn crackers. I was not a huge fan of the prawn crackers, but the fish itself was fresh and delicious. If you order this dish gluten free, it comes with cucumbers instead of crackers, which is a nice substitute.

Second appetizer was the Roasted Beet Salad. Do not be fooled by the price, this is a huge salad. We thought it would be more of a share size, and ended up sharing with the whole table. The salad is topped with red and golden beets (my favorite), goat cheese, pistachios, and a balsamic dressing. The beets were done perfectly, and because they are one of my favorite foods right now, i really enjoyed the dish.

For dinner, we had an assortment of items. Mahi Mahi Tacos, Lamb Burger, Filet Frites and my two favorite dishes - the Scallops and the sausage fest. Overall, everyone gave their meal an A+, but I am going to focus on my favorite. Lets start with The Sausage Fest - a large plate of sausage, pickled vegetables, mustard's and breads, the plate was able to hit every taste bud in my mouth. The two different sausages were spicy and sweet, and accompanied by a whole grain mustard and a honey mustard. I made a little sausage sandwich with my pretzel roll, that came out fresh out of the oven, so warm, and so delicious. You also get a very generous serving of potato salad, that is delicious and not too heavy.

Now to the scallops. For those of you who have been reading my blog, you should know that I LOVE scallops. I have a hard time making a good scallop dish at home, so treating myself to scallops while I am out is on of my favorite things. Firstly, the scallops were delicious. Delicious enough that 3 people at the table actually ordered them. Cooked perfectly, seasoned perfectly, and the best part is that you got a very generous amount of scallops. It is very common to go to a restaurant and get 3 scallops with a little garnish. We got 4-5 very large scallops that left my belly very full. The best part was probably the mushroom risotto. For those of you that do not like mushroom, I am sorry; this was one of the best risotto's i have ever had. Creamy, delicious, and topped with a balsamic glaze, I finished off the entire dish, even though my stomach said NO NO NO.

Overall, my birthday was a success. I am thinking 24 is going to be my year. A year of health, exersise, and getting myself into the shape I want to be in. Hope you are all ready for another year of blogging, and delicious food, because that is one thing that is not going away! Thanks for following!
